This is genius! So many people have said exactly what you just did- but, at least in my mind, you said it better than the bulk of them. I want to talk more about this when we Skype later today!
I appreciate you mentioning that you don’t have a problem with non-voters. I remember my third grade teacher (The same teacher, mind you, who told his entire class that Donald Trump was a “terrible person”) showed us a video made for kids about the grave importance of voting. (I should also mention that he acted in and produced the video.)
All the 'experts' say we should vote, but they don't tell us what to do when the two candidates are worse than useless.
I always vote, but I'll vote third party or write-in. People think that's a wasted vote. I would say voting for the lesser of two evils is a wasted vote. The third party doesn't have to win to make a difference. Every election is evaluated by both parties. When they see people NOT voting for them, they start revising their strategy. They could even end up moving their platform toward what the third party represents.
The greatest evil in the American elections system is the party box on the ballots. As long as the party box is on the ballots, a third of the electorate will check that box, and the hacks and hucksters, hustlers and hod-carriers are going to stay in office, lining their own pockets and ignoring all but the biggest noisemakers and donors, the spectacles and the exceptions to every rule.
Time for the party box to be removed. But the parties insist they must be there because they run the elections. Thus, the hacks and hucksters, hustlers and hod-carriers are going to stay in office forever.
Some revolution we had, George. Too bad we abandoned what you fought for when we let parties exist.

I'm sure you know that Washington warned us BACK THEN, to not the parties take control.
